UCLA HDR Brachytherapy Program/ General Radiation Oncology
Kayla chaired the 昀椀rst-ever nursing track for BrachyAcademy at their general brachytherapy course in Rome in March. Historically
the BrachyAcademy has only been for physicians and physicists. She also had an abstract, “Educational and Organizational Support
for Radiation Oncology Department Nurses and Teams Adopting Procedural, Anesthesia and Perioperative Practices," accepted to
ESTRO which was held in Vienna, Austria, this year. Most recently, Kayla helped develop the non-pro昀椀t BrachyTerra Nursing course
for nurses exclusively in Africa. Currently the virtual, self-paced program has 1000+ enrolled.
