NEW PROMOTION
CARE FELIX
It’s our pleasure to announce the promotion of Care Felix to Manager of the Clinical Research Unit for the
Department of Radiation Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Care is a third-generation Santa Barbarian with a lifelong love of the outdoors. An avid ultralight backpacker and
fly fisherwoman, she regularly ventures into California’s Sierras and Montana’s rivers. After studying Biology at
UCSB, Care moved to Los Angeles in 1980 to pursue a career in acting, performing professionally in television,
film, and theatre. She later transitioned into clinical research, as a Medical Assistant and Coordinator with UCLA’s
Pulmonary and Critical Care team studying the effects of marijuana vs. tobacco smoking on the lungs. Over
the past several decades, Care has coordinated complex clinical trials and regulatory operations at institutions
including UCLA, CSMC, City of Hope, and HealthNet. As a working single mother, she completed her biology
degree at UCLA in 2007. Since 2012, she has served as a Study Coordinator in Radiation Oncology at UCLA, leading
quality improvement efforts and overseeing FDA IND applications.
